Invitation
We are all being invited.
The Great Invitation is for all and ever-present. Nothing to do but to receive.
To accept.
This is a surprisingly difficult task. We are full of distraction and heartache. Like intoxicated party crashers who stumble blindly, Fear, Loss, Righteous Indignation, Resentment, and "The Self Made Man" all boldly, brashly, and cowardly exclaim they are the real “life of the party”. Perhaps, maybe someday they will receive...
Invitation.
If there is any goal to attain it is not in the hosting of our own party, but in the openness to receive a welcome by the Host who welcomes all things.
Invitation.
Extended to all and extended for all, Invitation has plenty of room at the table. Rest assured, more than enough to feed everyone. Lavish and full of Grace, Invitation is not interested on how you got here, but thankful to share your company. At the table you may let go and be at ease. Your full self welcomed.
Nothing for you to bring yet you are encouraged to share your whole self. Nothing to react against, defend, or assault.
Simply… Invitation.
In the high seasons of life and in it’s depths there is still...
Invitation.
Thankfully, Circumstance, as powerful as he is, is not a prerequisite or companion to Invitation.
In joy there is Invitation.
In loss there is Invitation.
In suffering; still, there is Invitation.
Even in Death there is a force forever greater...
Invitation...
To imagine. To be curious. To be whole. To discover. To be made new. To find Life.
Again and again.
